• Team Communication - Keep team up to date on all team activity (weekly emails, game updates, changes in schedule, volunteers scheduled for upcoming events, team parties, open items, etc.). Frequency of team emails is at the manager's discretion (some prefer sending a weekly email with peek at schedule and volunteers). Email is preferred for important information like tournament details rather than using the SportsEngine chat or other chat functionality (these apps make it hard to track as various topics can bury the  info).
  • Team mailboxes – Each team has a mailbox (slot) within the coaches room in Rink 2.  Check your mailbox frequently for various handout materials.
  • Team Book – In the past, managers kept a book with all pertinent team information (official roster,  etc.). Recently, with everything accesible online, this is not a necessity.
  • Games - Team managers are responsible for keeping the team informed of all game information and changes that may occur.
  • Tournaments – Contact PLSHA Tournament Coordinator with any questions.  Forward information to parents ASAP.  Various tournament information may include:
    • Tournament Contact - Google your tournament website and contact them to have your name added as the team contact. They will then communicate directly with you on required forms, rosters and/or bracket information.
    • Ice Scheduler puts a placeholder on your SportsEngine calendar. Verify the dates are correct. You will add the individual games to your calendar once you have the tournament schedule. Add them as EVENTS so that it doesn't affect the master ice schedule.
    • Roster forms & Brackets - Most tournaments will require a team roster prior to the tournament. There is a roster form in the documents below to use if they don't have a standard format. Brackets will be posted on tournament websites, when available.
    • Tournament Apparel - Tournaments may have apparel for pre-order to share with your team (most will have deadlines for ordering).
    • Hotel Block - Communicate the hotel room block information so the team is aware of booking deadlines. Also contact hotel to see if a meeting room can be reserved. There may be a fee, so that would need to come from slush, so coordinate with your treasurer.
    • Social gatherings - You may want to make reservations for between or after games for team lunch, dinner, etc.
    • Gate fees - Gate fees have been paid upfront in most cases.  If they list individual gate fees required (fee per person), chances are you will need to pay them at tournaments. Make sure to communicate to your team so everyone is aware they will need to pay fees.
    • Non-Parent Coach Expenses - If your team has a non-parent coach, you are required to cover their hotel room and per diem (suggested $30/day when meals are not provided with the team). Questions contact the PLSHA Treasurer.
  • Player Apparel – Standard PLSHA items include jacket and pants (type depends on coach preference). Provide the team with coaches selection, along with the optional items. Order through Letterman via the link and order window in the Team Store .
  • Coaches Apparel – If warmups are needed, please have coaches order through General Sports via the link in the Team Store .
  • Pictures – You will receive information for team pictures from the Manager Coordinator. Make sure all players arrive 15 minutes early to your assigned location dressed and with completed forms and payment (no locker rooms available). Make sure to tell the team which jersey should be worn.
  • Dakotah Conference Room - If you need to schedule a conference room for team meetings, chalk talks, or parties, contact Matt at Dakotah Sports & Fitness. Cost is $25, paid by team.
  • Player Helmet Stickers - Laker stickers are available for players to put on their helmets. Contact Team Manager Coordinator  for additional stickers.
